We display all hockey odds in standard American format. The minus sign (-) marks the favourite, while the plus sign (+) shows the underdog.
If you think a team's actual chance of winning is higher than what the odds suggest, that's where you find your edge.
If you're looking at a standard game sheet, these are the main ways to play:
| Market | How it works |
|---|---|
| Moneyline | Pick who wins outright. Unless stated otherwise, this includes whatever happens in overtime or a shootout. |
| Puck Line (-1.5 / +1.5) | Hockey's version of a point spread. The favourite at -1.5 has to win by at least two goals. The underdog at +1.5 wins your bet if they win the game or lose by just one. Tip: Keep an eye on which head coaches like to pull their goalie early—empty-net goals decide a lot of puck line tickets. |
| Totals (Over/Under) | Bet on the combined goal count from both teams, usually set at 5.5 or 6.5. |
| 3-Way (60-Minute Line) | Pick Home, Away, or Tie at the end of regulation. Because overtime doesn't protect you here, you get better prices on favourites—if you're willing to take the regulation risk. |
| Same-Game Parlays (SGP) | Stack a few picks from one game onto a single ticket for a larger payout—like pairing a team moneyline with the Over and an anytime goalscorer prop. Every piece of the bet needs to hit to collect. |
Once starting lineups and starting goalies are confirmed on game day, prop markets open up. You can bet on anytime or first goalscorers, points, assists, shots on goal, or goalie save counts. We also host season-long milestone props if you want to back a player's full-year goal total.
Hockey shifts move fast, which makes live betting a fun way to react to game flow. Odds adjust instantly after penalties, power plays, and goals. You can jump in on live moneylines, the next team to score, or individual period outcomes right from your phone.
You can place long-term bets at any point in the year. Stanley Cup, conference, and division winner lines stay open straight through the regular season and adjust round-by-round in the playoffs. Postseason award markets (like the Conn Smythe) and end-of-season awards (Hart, Vezina, Norris, Calder) update daily based on player performance.
One lineup change can move an NHL line, especially if it involves the goalie. Here's what to keep an eye on before you bet.
Nothing moves a hockey line like a goalie change. Starters are usually confirmed on game day, often after the morning skate. If a team goes with its backup, expect the moneyline and total to move, sometimes by a lot.
Coaches shuffle lines all the time, and warmup lines are the best guide to who's playing where. A top scorer moving off the first power-play unit matters for props as much as for the game line.
A missing top-line centre or top-pair defenceman can move a line. Healthy scratches are often only confirmed in warmups, so late news is common.
Teams on the second night of a back-to-back often start their backup goalie. Check the schedule, because the market usually prices this in once the starter is known.
Early prices can be better, but you're betting before the lineups are confirmed. If you wait for warmups you'll know who's playing, though the price may already have moved.
In betting, NHL lines are the odds for each game: the moneyline, the puck line and the total. In hockey itself, "lines" also means the forward combinations that play together, and changes to those can move the betting lines.
Lines for most games are posted a day or more before puck drop, and they keep moving until the game starts.
Mostly because of news and money. Goalie confirmations, injuries and lineup changes shift the odds, and so does heavy betting on one side.
It's the favourite's side of the puck line. A bet on -1.5 wins only if that team wins by two or more goals.
Yes. Moneylines, puck lines and totals include overtime and shootouts unless the market says otherwise. The 60-minute line and period markets settle without overtime.
Yes. Every game is available for live betting once it starts, with moneyline, next team to score and period markets.
If the player doesn't dress, the bet is void and your stake is returned.
