Sherlock Holmes uses a classic detective setting, but the actual Slot design is fairly restrained. The London backdrop, pipes, hats, canes, and portraits give it enough identity, while the reel set keeps everything neat at 5 reels, 3 rows, and 20 paylines. That smaller footprint suits the game because the main point is not to overwhelm the player with branching features. It is to build toward one clearly defined Free Game and let that shift the payout focus.
The shift comes through Scatter behavior. In the base game, landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters anywhere awards a Scatter win and starts 15 Free Spins. Once the feature begins, Scatters do more than trigger. They become a Multiplier source, with 2 to 5 Scatters paying between 2x and 5x the normal payout. Wilds continue to substitute for everything except Scatter, which supports the line structure while the Scatter side handles the feature pressure. Sherlock Holmes stays compact, but it has enough in reserve to keep the investigation interesting.
