Peek & Pounce

Peek & Pounce has a playful cat and mouse setup, though the feature side gives it more bite than the cartoon look first suggests. The game runs on 5 reels and 4 rows with paylines, and the whole idea revolves around mice peeking out from holes above the reels while Señor Pounce waits for the right moment to leap. It is an easy theme to understand straight away, which helps because the main mechanic is doing most of the real work here. 

That mechanic is Wild Chase. When Señor Pounce lands beneath a visible mouse and the expanded reel still creates at least one winning combination, he jumps upward, catches the mouse, and turns symbols from his position to the top of the reel into Wilds. Each catch awards a random Multiplier that can range from 2x all the way to 500x, and if more than one cat catches a mouse on the same spin, those chases happen one after another from left to right before all awarded Multipliers are added together. The Catch the Cheese Bonus builds on that nicely by awarding 10, 15, or 20 Free Spins from 3, 4, or 5 Scatters, while keeping a Multiplier meter active for the entire feature. It is light on the surface, but the Bonus structure gives it a good bit of chewiness.

• Persistent Bonus Multiplier meter: During the Bonus, Señor Pounce can still leap upward even if the spin does not create a win. Any Multipliers from caught mice are added to a running meter, and the total shown there is applied at the end of each Bonus spin.
