Blackjack online at Ozoon gives players a fast, user-friendly way to play one of the world’s most popular card games, where the goal is to beat the dealer by getting closer to 21 without going over (busting). You’re always playing against the dealer — not other players at the table.
Online blackjack is a digital version of the card game played through an online platform. It features the same rules and excitement as a casino table, but with added speed, convenience, and accessibility.
Ozoon has 17 types of blackjack available in Canada and 45 live dealer tables. There’s something for casual players and high-stakes bettors alike, with limits starting at $1 CAD and going up to $50,000 CAD, all in Canadian Dollars with no conversion fees. Each variant has a Practice Play option too, so you can learn the rules or test different strategies before committing real money.
Cards 2 through 10 are counted at their face value, while face cards (J-K) are all worth 10. Aces are flexible — they play as 1 or 11, whichever number helps you more.
Receiving an Ace paired with a 10-value card is a natural blackjack, which pays 3:2.
If the sum of all your cards goes over 21, you bust. This is an automatic loss no matter how bad the dealer’s hand looks. Dealers must take a card (hit) on 16 or below and stand on 17+, though some variants use different rules. For example, in Ozoon’s Classic game, the dealer hits on soft 17, which is when a hand is worth 17 and has an Ace counting as 11.
Ozoon’s interface enforces all of this automatically, so miscounts aren’t possible.
Card dealing and rule enforcement are handled by Ozoon’s software, so the only thing you need to do is make decisions about how you play your cards.
Hit means you want another card to increase your total.
Stand means you’re keeping what you’ve got.
Double Down is available on starting totals of 9, 10, or 11 in most variants. It means you double your bet and agree to accept just one more card.
Split takes a pair and turns it into two hands, each with its own bet. Always split Aces and 8s. Never split 10s. Never split 5s (double on those instead).
Insurance is offered when the dealer’s upcard is an Ace, and insurance pays 2:1 if they have blackjack. Most seasoned players avoid this, though, as it doesn’t stack up well mathematically.
Surrender allows you to forfeit half your bet to end a weak hand early. It’s often worth considering with a hard 16 if the dealer has 10 showing (though only certain variants permit this).
The beauty of blackjack is that it’s a simple game, but small tweaks to the ruleset open the door to new strategies and thrills. Here at Ozoon, we’ve got a range of varieties on offer:
We also offer some other games, such as: Single Deck, Classic Single Deck, 21 Burn, Perfect Pairs, 21+3, Dragon Blackjack Guarantee, Pirate 21, Pontoon 21, Super 7, and Zappit.
There are also side bets available across variants, such as Perfect Pairs and 21+3, which can pay up to 25:1. All of our variants run on iOS and Android, no download is required, and Practice Play is available on every game.
Live dealer blackjack play is where things really get good — professional live dealers, HD streaming, and an in-casino atmosphere. We’ve got 45 tables running 24/7 in HD, with limits from $5 to $50,000 CAD.
These all come with on-screen game history and bet tracking too. Early Payout is available if you want to lock in partial winnings before a hand finishes.
For those who can’t find a spot, Unlimited Bet Behind lets you wager on another player’s hand when tables are full.
All live tables are accessible on mobile without downloading an app.
Here are some key strategy tips to take your blackjack to the next level.
The non-negotiable splits: Aces and 8s, every time. A pair of 10s is already a 20, so leave it. 5s should be doubled, never split.
Stand on hard 17 or above. On hard 16 or lower, take a card when the dealer’s upcard is 7 through Ace.
Assume the dealer’s face-down card is a 10, as this is the most common value.
Remember, the variant you’re playing changes the specifics. In Classic, double on soft 18 against dealer 2 through 6. In Double Deck, split 2s, 3s, and 7s more aggressively when the dealer’s upcard is between 2 and 7.
Finally, insurance isn’t worth the money. The house edge is too steep, and your expected return actually drops when you take it.
In blackjack, you’ll find that consistently making the right decisions has a bigger impact than luck alone.
If your hand has an Ace counted as 11, it’s called soft (for example, Ace-6 is a soft 17). The Ace can drop to 1 if the next card pushes you over, so taking another card usually doesn’t have the same bust risk. Hard hands (no Ace, or an Ace stuck at 1) don’t have that cushion, which is why the strategy is so different for each.
On soft 13 through 17, double against a dealer’s 5 or 6. Soft 18 is trickier — most players just stand. Against a dealer’s 2 through 8, standing is correct. But against 9, 10, or Ace, you should often take a card.
Hard 16 against a dealer’s 10 is the worst spot in the game. Surrender if you can. Otherwise, take a card.
There are a few ways to approach betting and bankroll in blackjack to ensure that you play responsibly but still have fun. Here are some of the most popular methods:
Martingale is where you double bet after every loss. One win recovers the deficit, but you’ll need a big bankroll, as a cold streak can get rough.
Positive Progression — here, you increase bets on winning streaks and drop to your base bet after a loss. This means less variance and is easier to sustain over a long spell.
Flat Betting is the lowest-risk approach: same bet, every hand, no adjustments. On Ozoon’s $1 minimum tables, you can keep the cost per hand low while getting comfortable with the game.
You might have seen card counting in the movies. It’s interesting to learn about, but online blackjack reshuffles continuously, which means the count resets too often for card counting to pay off.
Instead, focus on session discipline — decide on a loss limit before you start, and actually stop when you get there. Ozoon’s responsible gaming tools will enforce this automatically if you opt in.
Ozoon has plenty of promotions for those who love playing blackjack.
New players receive a 100% deposit match up to $3,500 when opting in at registration, while crypto deposits get 150% up to $7,000. There are also rotating cashback promotions, as well as adjusted table limits during peak hours.

Yes. Every variant has Practice Play mode. No deposit, no risk. It’s the same rules, same interface, just without real money on the line.
No, this is almost never a good idea. The house edge on insurance is punishing enough that most serious players treat it as dead money regardless of the dealer’s upcard. Online shuffling rules out the one scenario where it could theoretically be justified.
A tie is called a push — your wager comes back in full, and no winnings are paid. In 22 Blackjack, a dealer total of 22 is also treated as a push, which is one of the reasons that variant appeals to more cautious players.
